Archbishops and Architecture – Private walking tour

A cross-section of Turku´s history and architecture along just one street.

Piispankatu aka Bishops Street is one of the medieval streets in Turku. Although the oldest buildings are no longer visible, there is plenty of history from the 1800s. The Archbishop of the Finnish Evangelical Lutheran Church still lives and works along this street, although the agricultural fields once growing crops to feed his household are now growing industrial buildings. We will see beautiful buildings of different eras, workers housing next to the bishop’s palace and more. Our professional tour guide will tell you stories of the houses and their inhabitants. Also, along Piispankatu Street we discuss city planning and influencers in Turku.

The tour starts in front of the Turku Cathedral

This is a private tour for your own group of 1 – 15 persons.
